I'm new... I'm still rearranging. My 15yo wants to arrange them for me. Not.

I hate the phone and messages being the same color and next to one another, but oh well, it is what it is.

Phone - Messages - Mail - Pocket Informant

I might end up jail breaking just for those blasted themes. You guys are killing me!

Do eeett! You'll get hooked and change themes every so often!

I don't understand how more people don't have clock.app. The first job of the phone is to make sure I show up for work on time.

Jailbreak at your own risk.

Some sing it's praise and some panic either when their device slows up freezes or gets bricked.

Just split up the phone and messages app !

What risk? People brick their devices when they try to unlock, not jailbreak. If anything goes wonky with a jailbreak, all you have to do is restore.

Phone, Safari, Twitter, Messages.

Here is my entire home screen, tho.

Like I've said it's about choice.

Forums are awosh with users who have experienced various issues after jailbreaking. I accept it's sometimes user error !

Personally I get what I need from my unit and I accept other owners want more which is fair enough.

There are threads from people who have jailbroken and then have problems with restoring !

I don't dis the jailbreak choice I just choose not to.

The thing about the dock is that it should have the apps that you want to be able to access from any home screen. The truth is I probably don't need to be able to access the iPod app at any time (I don't use it that often), but I like having it there. I'm surprised more people don't put settings in their dock.

Jailbreak and get BiteSMS! It is so much better than the standard messaging app and the icon is pink. :D

It costs a couple bucks but it's entirely worth it. Quick reply from anywhere in the phone (including the lock screen) without having to go into the actual messaging app or unlock the phone. :)

I have Settings in the dock on my stock iPad, but for the phone, like many JB’ers, I have SBSettings, which loads with a swipe on the status bar--even within apps.

Apple really should add that functionality. And Five Item Dock.

Phone, Mail, Safari, Camera

I have 11 month old identical twins so I keep the camera app in the dock. I never seemed to be able to find the camera app fast enough before I put it in the dock. I prefer to use my SLR camera, but the best camera is the one you have on you. I have been able to catch so many great shots because I didn't have to go looking for the camera.

I was jailbroken until recently. 5 apps in the dock is one of the things I miss most. When I had 5 apps in the dock I also had Calendar.

Agreed, I love SBSettings, but I still like to have the fully functional settings app right in the dock.

Phone - App Store - Cydia - Opera - Mail

Use biteSMS, so it's all QR over here. Plus, Opera is pretty damn good.

I'm liking that. Jailbreaking suddenly looks so attractive :D

IMO if you're interested, only jailbreak if you have an iPhone 3GS or above. You can jailbreak older models, but when I had my JB 3G, I did get sick of the constant slowness (even with daemons/retina/multi-tasking/speed-hacks all being modified/applied) and constantly having to release memory. You really need time and patience for the older devices.

But yeah, go for it. With the new JailbreakMe just released (yes!), there's absolutely no hardwork involved :p Plus, all you need is a Restore via iTunes if you don't like it.
