Ever since I got my first ever laptop a Retina Macbook Pro 2.66Ghz, 16GB RAM, 256GB SSD (in early October)…I keep thinking about that "Dotto's Data Cafe" Episode where Steve shows off what you need for your laptop bag (still trying to find the episode in my archives).

In that episode there was allot he mentioned (and I can't remember any of it, been racking my brain since the beginning of October).

So what bag/s do you have for your Macbook and what else is in your bag?

Today I have the following in my Targus CityGear backpack (15" version)

Yeah, if someone were to attack me they'd get a nice haul.
 
As photographers, the wife and I take the rMBPs out on a trip in photo bag, usually rolling ones (Lowepro proroller A200). We can move them to backpacks (Lowepro Vertex A200) if needed. The rMBPs are in Puma sleeves. Along with the rMBPs, we carry their power supplies, a Lexar dual slot USB 3 card reader, and a thunderbolt-etherenet adapter. The rest of the bag contents are camera bodies, lenses, flash....etc.

Once photos are edited back home, they are moved to external drives. So we do not carry external drives in the field. Finished photos we want to share with friends and family are exported as jpg files into albums on our iPads. We carry the iPads out of the house far more often than the rMBPs.

Since I use a 13" bag ( didn't want a big bulky one ), I only carry chargers around when I know that chances are high things won't last as much as they should during the day ( so extremely rarely ). In general, I have:

- 13" rMBP
- iPad 4 + stylus
- USB stick, USB cable ( for iPad / iPhone mainly ), HDMI cable
- other random papers and documents

I do carry these things around each working week day.

PS: iPhone and headset are always in a pocket ( not in the bag ).

Man. Some of you really carry a lot of stuff. The people that carry all that stuff must not travel a lot. Or if they do, a car is involved. Here's what I carry:

- 13" Retina Mac (no charger, unless I'm going someplace other than home or the office)
- Nexus 7 (for when I feel like just reading or if the train is standing room only)
- Bose In Ear headphones
- MiFi / Train ticket (in holder)
- Couple of USB sticks
- TB to Ethernet
- Couple of pens
- Business cards
- Keys
- Coffee Mug
- Folded up paper towel for when I spill coffee (copier paper is not absorbant at all)
- Gum
 
Laptop, iPad 3, chargers for laptop, iPad, iPhone & Razr, NewTrent battery pack, headphones, hand sanitizer, pens, microfiber cloth, USB thumb drive, hand wipes, water bottle, snacks.
 
Pocket:
iPhone 5, credit card wallet, chapstick (well actually Burt's Bees), house keys, some cash.

Daily bag:

couple plastic bags for shopping
