I dropped my iPhone 11 down a flight of marble stairs last week.:(

Ordered a first gen SE from eBay today to tide me over...

What's this 11 worth?
It's of no use to me now.

An Apple employee informed me tonight via online chat, that the back can't be replaced as it houses the wireless charging tech. (makes sense I guess).
The front of course can be replaced though.

Recycling companies here in the UK are offering up to £190 according to comparison website.
I've not had great experiences with them in the past though...

Stuart.

Cheers for the reply @firedept.

The previous unpleasant experience I'm referring to, is sending off a phone that gets checked over by their experts on arrival, and to have the offer price reduced by 60%.

I can't be bothered with any of that nonsense to be honest.

Just wondered what folk's opinions on here were regarding value.

The Apple employee did say they'd be interested in taking it for recycling, but couldn't give me a value.
Said I'd have to speak to someone in sales support tomorrow...

I know you say you have had previous unpleasant experiences but I would jump on the offer. You phone is worth parts only and worth virtually nothing. I did a quick search on Ebay and they sell for about what your offer is.

Ouch. Sorry that happened.

Agree that you cut your losses and take that offer. Even if they lowball you, it's more than you have now.

Oh, and unless Apple is different across the pond, they will gladly "recycle" it for you, but you won't get any money.

Yeah, bummer!

I'll speak to Apple tomorrow to see what they offer, but you're probably right about them taking it off my hands for nowt!!

Ouch sorry to see and hear that, this is why I always have a case and glass screen protector on my iPhone at all time, I have a tendency of dropping it at times.

Thanks.

I've only used covers / screen protectors from time to time. And in all honesty, this is only the second iPhone I've ever broken!

I think I will protect again for the iPhone 12...

Maybe you can see if you can replace the front display from a third party shop? I know its a long shot but maybe it wont be too expensive since it is not an OLED panel.

It is about $150 (in USD) to fix it. Maybe cheaper at shops.

Yeah, it's about £120-£130 to fix the front screen.

But the back is goosed too though!?

Agreed with that.

It would still be an useable iphone. Far cheaper than buying another, provided anything else is not broken apart from the back.

The damage on the back and around the cameras are more than significant enough to make this device not useable as a primary!
