$600-800 for me. "Stock" 4,1's with processors like yours usually go for $400-600 now.

As a starting point, you can check Mac2Sell, eBay (including completed sales), and Amazon for prices of similar models, to get an idea of what a reasonable price may be. Don't check just once source, but get an average from all sites for a more accurate idea. Some sites may be higher/lower than is realistic. Then adjust the price to account for condition, configuration, remaining AppleCare coverage (if any), etc. If the model is recent enough, you can also check the Apple refurbished store to see what similar models are selling for.

not sure which country you are from but if you are in Toronto, Canada......at least $1500 base on our Classified sites like Kijiji or Craigslist.

I've seen systems with lesser quality that costs more.

good luck

In canada u can get allot of ebayers to ship to you...buy for 500 and ship for about 150

Thanks, I have a ballpark now. I am probably looking for a local sale, shipping this would be a pain. I dont have a box, not to mention the cost.

Sorry, I forgot to mention, I am in NC, 27559, USA.

Last time I shipped a MP I took it to mail boxes etc. they charged $25 to pack it up. Its was $40 to ship it with USPS from my Army base here in Germany to San Diego. Don’t be afraid of shipping it give it to someone who see’s it as standard fare.

Oh cool, thats not bad then, assuming people are willing to pay that. Good to know!

That's why I said
It's a standard reply to the hundreds of pricing advice questions that are posted.

You said "if the model is recent enough", and we already know how recent it is (4,1), and I simply said only nMPs have been on the refurbished store lately, and OP's machine is way too too old. I gave additional information, I'm not sure if you read the original post, but you seemed to take offense for some reason.

I'm not taking offense at all. I'm only explaining that the post is the same for the hundreds of pricing advice threads I respond to. The language is carefully chosen to ensure that readers who pay attention will know to disregard the part about the refurb store if their model is older. It's not necessary to edit the post for each scenario, as others who read the thread may find the information useful for pricing other models.
