Just seeing some of the concerns/frustrations/hiccups from Monterey, what's next for macOS? This is my wishlist:
  • A light upgrade — meaning focus on performance & squashing bugs — less of a panoply of new features
  • Allow users to sign into the Mac with their Apple ID, instead of creating a new local username/password specifically for that computer. In addition to keychains, bookmarks, etc, it syncs desktop background, desktop icon positioning, Finder preferences, security preferences, user preferences, etc from Mac to Mac.
  • Nix Launchpad & bring the App Library over from iPadOS.
  • Speed up the system update process. It takes way too long.

macOS 13. Or will they skip it? :D

My Wishlist:
  • I've had one system crash/reboot on my M1 Pro already. hardware tests OK, so its a software bug
  • fix the memory leaks
  • make Siri more intelligent. I don't want her to be just a voice assistant, I want Siri to be able to intelligently respond to/schedule incoming calendar appointments (and via machine learning bug me about something that came in only if it is IMPORTANT), answer phone calls/texts in DND mode (much like dnd while driving does on the phone), etc. After I come out of Focus, give me a summary of what I missed.

monterey has it's issues, as has every mac OS before it. and you're welcome to make a list of what you want, but apple should be well into what the next OS is already; i mean, we'll be seeing it in beta by july 2022.

if you want to make suggestions directly, try this:

but really, we all have our own ideas of how the OS should look, behave. that makes for a lot of different ideas. still, they did seem to hear the users about the macbooks, so... who knows?....

I don't think Apple should ever have promised annual upgrades. They obviously can't have them ready for prime time. I'd be content for them to just release when ready. And yes, focus on stability over features.

Apple should maintain macOS 12 until around .10 or .11 and take next year off and focus on bringing iOS/iPadOS into this decade with a massive overhaul on features and UI.
