I truly hope Apple doesn't follow these predictions as pictured, none of the bigger ticket items (iPhone 6 and iPad Pro) seem to fit the vision that Jobs and Apple spoke of in recent years. They also both look tacky (yes, they are mockups, but still).

Rather, I would love to see innovation in integrating the two OS's, using more cloud services, getting rid of the bezel on displays (iPhone/iPad/Macbook) and a Retina MacBook Air. An iWatch, that would be a bonus, but I think the tech is not ready yet.

Just my 2c.

Just keep Jony away from OS X's interface please. iOS looks completely soulless now. OS X still has that "pop" that iOS had. Please don't ruin it.

oh come on. you dont want OSx to have those bright colours that just POP? by today's OS standards, its dull and boring :p

Bring more Win8.1 to OSx I say! :p:p:p:p:cool:

Okay, but who are you talking about when you say there may be a market for these smart watches? Who would they appeal to? To the masses? I certainly don't think so.

Why not ? I think it all comes down to the marketing , I remember a time when smartphones were just for people who liked to fiddle and look where we are now

No. Just no.

I don't want yellow text on a white background. I don't want Calendar redesigned to look and operate like iOS.

Maybe Apple will steer iOS7 back to being more intuitive. OS X is still a great system and I'd like to see more of that put into iOS, not the other way around.

Same comments here. iOS 7 is a usability mess and design mistake. OS X is doing well except for all the rollover and auto-hide bugs in various UI elements. There's no way I could deal with OS X looking like iOS 7. I'm not updating my iPhone to iOS 7, and I won't update to a similarly crappy OS X. If I buy an iPad, I'll be forced to deal with iOS 7, and that's already too much. Jony Ive is clueless about GUI design.

This.^^^

Completely agree with you here, don't want OS X to look like iOS (7).

The obvious home run is a bigger iphone for knocking down a big advantage that the competition has.

The bigger ipad and iWatch hold no interest for me.

I hope someone from Apple reads these posts...

My new Mac Pro is coming on Friday, Jan 3. I sure wish I had a new 4K display to use with it.

What's the use of all that graphic power without a display to go with it?

And not a $3595 sharp.

The engineering for this can't be all that complicated.

Please, please bring one out soon.

Yes. This is interesting. While I don't want it to look like iOS7, I wouldn't mind some minor flattening. The graphics industry is switching, and many people think the new trend looks good (tho there are haters). So maybe get rid of a few shadows here and there, but nothing too dramatic.

"iPad Maxi"? Uh, MacRumors, it's called a play on words - also known as a joke. Nobody actually thinks it will be called iPad Maxi. You may want to edit the article.

Personally, I think iOS 7 has more "soul" and pops a hell of a lot more than iOS 6.

Already NO optimization for the current iPad line-up and Apple's looking at extending the offerings to 12.9" - what is happening here?

didn't Apple say that the iPhone 5 has the perfect size for a human hand where the thumb can easily go anywhere in the screen and stuff? What happened to that theory if they are gonna release a larger iPhone now?

Touch interface for OS X and MB Air?

Tim Cook can trash-talk it all he wants, but it does work on Windows 8 tablets, 2-in-1s, and laptops.

The only way this new iPad Maxi (or whatever it will be called) will be successful in my opinion, is if it is 13" or 15", run OSX and integrate the WACOM Cintiq hardware environment. OSX would need to add some touch layers, however, for the creative professional, this could be a big win. It would be poised to take on the Cintiq Companion, which runs Win 8.

Cue an image with iOS 7 screen embedded on a StayFree Maxi pad.

 :D

BL.

don't be too excited, out of all these rumors, only 1 will be true

Apple will never release several real new products at once

its a common Apple marketting technique if you haven't noticed by now.

Tell everyone something is crap, until you start using it, then make up some name for why yours is better than how it was done before.

EG: Plastic is crap.

iphone 5c, PLASTIC IS THE FUTURE!

We're at a weird turning point. Mobile devices are selling like crazy yet people still use OS X on a daily basis. I feel OS X has peaked in terms of innovations and maturity of an OS. How many more add-ons can they throw into it to keep it selling every year?

OS 11 has to be around on the market in the next 5 years with a whole new way to look at laptop and desktop computing. Or the mobile environment could just keep taking sales inch by inch.

I really do like this ad cuz it's exactly why I still like the smaller iPhone screen. I can still use my phone to it's full extent with one hand where as most android phones need to be held like a tablet to navigate.
