Only because I take one with me. I bought a load for the office a couple of summers back. Funnily enough they have all disappeared!

In an old office I used to have a tower fan that I purchased for three of us working in the same area. In the mornings with sun blasting in through the windows it just got too hot.

That problem was solved when high rise apartments got built next door. Hello new neighbours and goodbye to natural light.

That building was so close you would be able to watch whatever was on their TV screens through the windows. I moved elsewhere before people started to move in.

We have a big park opposite and it’s an upstairs office with lots of glass. Fortunately I only have to go in once a week. The rest of the week it’s WFH and cooler. Still warmer than I’d like at the moment though.

Hope this isn’t too random.

When I was a kid in the 70s I remember rainy days being a light rain that pretty much lasted the entire day. There was not really any wind and no lightning. No real need for an umbrella when running an errand because it was a light rain. Yes we got storms, but we also had days like I described.

Now I feel like it’s either sun or storms. Is it just me?

We still get light rain or heavy rain. But this year has been one of the driest so far. I’d be grateful for any rain so we don’t have to water every day on a water meter. Water butt has long been drained.

I've felt unwell all day. Don't like the heat at all. Got a fan on me all day. Thankfully I'm not in the office until Thursday. Hopefully you'll be OK if you have a fan.
Me too. The sun has been pretty brutal this past week where I'm at. My oldest and middle kiddos play soccer and typically their games are within an hour of eachother. Yesterday they were at 8Am and 10AM, so I was out in the hot, 95-100F dry high desert sun getting cooked from 8:00a to about 11:30a. Multiple applications of sunscreen saved me from any bad sunburn and I brought a bunch of iced water and the usual umbrella and chairs but just being out there for so long really cooked my goose lol. I also practiced passing and throw in drills with my middle son after my oldests game while he was waiting for his game to start. Then my oldest wanted to drill booming the ball downfield from the goal box a bit, so we did that after my middle kiddos game ended. Anyways, I felt pretty bad the rest of the day yesterday - just tired and washed out. Yanno, what too much sun exposure will do to you.

Today has been better but still not feeling 100%. My oldest wants to go on a bike ride today but its 95F and full afternoon sun. Not really looking forward to the ride but hopefully it cools off a bit after dinner and I can make that happen for him. I did tell him Id go on a bike ride with him this weekend and I know he has been disappointed lately as typically in cooler weather we go on two or three moderate rides around the neighborhood a week.

Where I'm at we're in the beginning of our monsoon season, so big afternoon rains every day until August sometime. Aside from some pretty temperate winters these past couple years, its been what one would expect around here.

Whats on my mind? My boys like to collect rocks on our walks and hikes so I picked up a National Geographic rock tumbler and we occasionally do a batch of rocks they find (this most recent batch was a lot of quartz) to see how they come out. Anyhow, it is fun and we have gotten some really neat ones but I am trying to figure out how to keep the supper shiny polish on them like when they are wet just out of the tumbler. We do a 4 part polish that all in takes about 2 weeks of tumbling. I know the kids would love to have their polished and tumbled rocks have that permanent gloss like when they are wet so trying to figure that out while im waiting for my ciabatta to rise.

I've bought 3 of these from John Lewis and recommend them. Great to take with you when travelling and the in the office just plug into a computer. Lasts all day on a full charge.

Ok so being the Dadalorian that I am, I sucked it up of course and my son and I got a nice moderate 4-5m ride around the neighborhoods in. There’s a back alley he likes to zoom down (it’s all down hill) which I admit is super fun after chugging uphill to get there :). I hitched up the pull along and stuck my 1.5y/o in there because uphill in 99F full sun isn’t enough sadistic fun.

I admit that I played a bit of a trick on my oldest. My around town is a modest cross bike with a nice assortment of gear rings while my oldest took his BMX fixy. That thing really burned Im sure going up the hills lol (caught him really sucking air a few times) so he got a great leg work out in and was very happy to stop when we got back (so was I ;) )

Whew, my ciabatta should be about done (left my wife in charge of the bake while I scooped some groceries from pickup real quick that she ordered).

Our 25 wedding anniversary Viking river cruise!!
Leaving now from Detroit, starts Monday June 30 in Amsterdam, ends Wednesday July 16 in Budapest.

Birds. Specifically, mountain bluebirds.
There’s been a couple that have built a nest in my two front junipers for the last 4, 5 years; they recognize me and don’t see me as a threat, so they kinda hang close and look at me when I walk out. They’ve layed eggs during that time, but the magpies always got to the eggs, or the young chicks, year after year.
Not this year (in fact, I haven’t see my local magpies in quite awhile). The chicks have fledged in the last week, and love to land right in front of my door and bang on it (I don’t know why) and sometimes they land on the lower ledge of my picture window, so I can watch them 4’ away from my easy chair, so cool! And damn, they make a racket, but I’m glad the parents were able to raise a successful brood for once.

Scams are on my mind. More specifically, things that probably are legit at least on the surface, but when digging deeper, their fishy qualities become more and more apparent.
