Yes, open the doors to cool that car down fast... a lot more air volume exchanged than opening the windows.
That’s true—it’s like an oven! It’s hot. My mind has mostly been on that today! Fans not helping all that much. Hoping the weather breaks soon. This is quite unbearable in a country mostly without AC.
It's 95F here too. It's a "dry heat" (Thank God) but the morning and evenings are usually chokingly humid. That’s true—it’s like an oven!
There was a report on the news today that two people drowned in the Rhine—or wherever it was. That’s why it’s better to go to a swimming pool or a public pool.
35 degrees Celsius or 95 Fahrenheit
I'm not looking forward to the office tomorrow. They sent out the usual "we want to help in anyway we can to make people comfortable as possible" email. Yeah? So let us work from home then!I’m just melting today. Other than my early morning hour and a half on the cross trainer, I’ve done nothing all day.
Moving more than a few inches from the fan and it’s unbearable.
Be careful in open water, particularly with cold water shock... We've lost a few here and heard reports of 40 or so in France during the past week...That’s true—it’s like an oven!

Yeah, thanks.Be careful in open water, particularly with cold water shock... We've lost a few here and heard reports of 40 or so in France during the past week...
The science appears to back you up. The health benefits of fruits and vegetables far outweigh the downside of pesticides. See:I have to admit that I'm concerned by pestitcides in produce... My ideal would be to go organic, but that doesn't work well for my current budget realities much of the time. 😭
Maybe it's playing Russian Produce Roulette, but I A) buy into the argument one is better off eating fruit than not, even if flawed, [...]
I agree, here in the city I live (Heemstede, The Netherlands), it was 35 degrees Celsius today. Crazy...It’s hot. My mind has mostly been on that today! Fans not helping all that much. Hoping the weather breaks soon. This is quite unbearable in a country mostly without AC.
I’m off all week, but our boss sent nothing out at all. It wouldn’t even cross his mind.I'm not looking forward to the office tomorrow. They sent out the usual "we want to help in anyway we can to make people comfortable as possible" email. Yeah? So let us work from home then!
No AC in a car is no fun. I was driving home from a trip yesterday for over four hours. Made it a lot more pleasant.I agree, here in the city I live (Heemstede, The Netherlands), it was 35 degrees Celsius today. Crazy...
Fortunately, it's "dry heat" here too, so it's still bearable if you really take your time and take it easy.
My boss told me and my colleagues: "If you feel better working from home, you have permission to do so." We rely on schools, and some of them are closing at 12:00 or 12:30PM.
Our meteorological Institute has issued an orange weather code (extreme heat warning).
Tomorrow (Thursday), it'll be like 31 degrees, but I'm certainly not looking forward to Friday, where it'll be close to 40...
Lowest temperature are around 22 or 23 degrees. I really hope the heat breaks soon after that.
I am so glad I traded my car last september for a newer car with AC. My previous car didn't had AC.
Those who are dealing with the heat, stay safe and be careful.

Because most houses are not constructed with it. Up until a few years back it really wasn’t required all that much. But with global warming it’s changed a lot. What is the reason the UK is mostly not with AC? Is this in the remote areas?
My SO visited London and Scotland a few years ago, and she said she recalls AC being prevalent.
I think I also read in one of your posts that the windows open out - which would make it herder to install windows units. Is that correct?Because most houses are not constructed with it. Up until a few years back it really wasn’t required all that much. But with global warming it’s changed a lot.
Also we pay a lot more for electricity than they do in the states. So it’s not really an option for many people.
The would bother me too... with that said, I have been using a keychain for many years. They are great keyboards. Are you going to exchange it?I just bought a Keychron K2 HE and it's fantastic except a slight keyboard wobble. 99% of people wouldn't even notice it due to how small and insignificant it is, but my OCD is going crazy.

Here in Switzerland, our windows open inwards but most types of aircon are banned. In Basel, where I am currently, almost all types are banned. It's a huge debate and happens every year now.
Luckily, compared to most of the UK (I only know London as that's where I go regularly) our heatwave here might be lasting longer but there's less humidity, so it's bearable.
Plus, a couple of our museums have just advertised that they have full climate control and are having free entry while the heatwave continues.
I know at least one person who has a decent aircon system anyway and just hides it. No one is going to complain, and I even dare the local government to moan about it, due to the ****storm it'd create 😁
This is the most talked about one. Outside of this heatwave it's usually Fr.800! (Fr.1 ~ $1)![]()

Correct. Pretty standard for the UK. Basically your choices are small (inefficient) noisy portable units or spending a fortune.I think I also read in one of your posts that the windows open out - which would make it herder to install windows units. Is that correct?
Here there have been stories in the news of people sat in a stationary car with the AC on which is illegal in the UK.Thanks for the information.
I would rally behind the guy that has the AC system too! High heat can be dangerous (just like very cold temperatures) especially fo the elderly and people with health problems. This concerns me, not just here in the US, but anywhere there are unhealthy temperatures.
Haha, yeah, me too! Just had the best part of my day driving home with the AC on. Bliss! No AC in a car is no fun. I was driving home from a trip yesterday for over four hours. Made it a lot more pleasant.
Heck I’m considering sleeping in the car at this point!
