If you're at all interested in Old English this is a great book. You can normally pick it up secondhand. I think the author died a while back unfortunately (I met him quite a few years ago) so there won't be a second vol plus it can sometimes be a bit tricky to find

WOB currently have a secondhand one in stock
That sounds fascinating.

I'll see if I can lay hands on it in a bricks'n'mortar book shop, and perhaps, persuade them to order it for me if they do not stock it themselves.

It really is good. It's like those intro to French and German work books you used to get at school but it's all Old English. Some people say there are quite a few errors in it but lets be honest - none of us are ever going to meet a native speaker are we - and more academic approaches never worked at all for me anyway! I bought mine many years ago at an event at Sutton Hoo after meeting the author, I'd heard he had sadly died since and I think it's now out of print. Last company to sell it was ASBooks but they're now out of business too. If you do want to try it you'll probably have to pick up a secondhand one - as mentioned I'd go for the one on WOB - linky here, bit pricey on there but probably the only option.
