No 3G iPhone but iPhone SDK(Software Development Kit). With this, developers can make third party apps with Apple's permission though.
Well its really a roadmap press release the current standing rumor is that a beta of the SDK will be released and Enterprise features will be discussed. Also something about a software update. Either way thursday should begin a deeper understanding of sanctioned 3rd party support for the iPhone.
What if Cisco and Apple worked together? So thinking about the Cisco iPhone trademark ownership issue about a year ago and how they released it to Apple for their use, with an agreement to work together... fast forward to today Could you imagine if one of the announcements Thursday is a Cisco Unified Personal Communicator for the iPhone. This would offering on the iPhone a WiFi connected company phone when in range of WiFi, secure IM client and VPN client. Imagine if wherever a user found themselves in range of a WiFi signal they could VPN in and be attached to the corporate Unified Communications system. Cisco also owns Webex and they already have a iPhone optimized version of remote desktop access. What if they expanded this to offer a full Webex experience on the iPhone. This along with a Microsoft Entourage Application for the iPhone would make this the best business Smartphone you could get. Thursday could be interesting if we see anything like this...
It's getting close to the weekend. I like to think of it as 'Little Friday' and have a few pints after work.
