I hear a lot of people saying it's very good, but never a good explanation...
So, I would like to see some (short) reviews of people who are using it on their iPhone 5 or 5S.

Thanks in advance! :)

Think of a TPU case that when put on the phone feels like a solid hardcase. Magpul is using some proprietary Thermoplastic that is more rigid than any TPU case out there. The fit of the case is extremely tight that it feels like it is the shell of the phone...there's no movement on the case, you can squeeze a corner, squeeze the sides, it doesn't budge...only when you peel it off like a TPU case do you realize it's malleable. Also because of how rigid it is, the thermoplastic is extremely dense. This adds a bit of weight to the iPhone 5/5s. This is actually makes the phone feel way more solid because of the weight, the extremely tight fit, and rigidness.

It has a decent sized lip that does not go over the screen, only on the chamferred sides, so practically any screen protector works on it. Some people love the texture because it's grippy, but not sticky like glossy TPU or silicone.

One of the most underrated things about the case is how slim it is. I had the Apple Leather 5s case and the Magpul is practically the same dimensions in length, width, and height...maybe some tenths of a .mm or around one .mm more if you include the PMAG style rib designs...so basically not noticable at all. Another case that is the same size is the Diztronic TPU case, if you have used that one before.

First off, thanks for the help! :)

I am currently using a Speck Pixelskin HD and I just decided to replace it with a black Apple Leather Case...
Then I saw a lot of people saying the Magpul Field Case.

Which case do you like more, Magpul or Apple case?

I have both the Apple leather (red) and a Magpul case. I bought the Apple case at the same time as my 5S, and used it for a week or so until the Magpul came. I haven't used it since. And that's not to say I didn't like it, because I did. But I love the feel of the Magpul. It just feels right.

I ordered a Magpul last night. It's too replace my Spigen Tough Armor, which I felt was near perfect to begin with, but which I have grown to dislike a bit now. I'm hoping the Magpul is 'the one' as I have tried so many cases.

Does the magpul field case for iphone 5 fit the 5s or is there a separate one for the 5s?

Many thanks.

I have a few questions about this case.
- I keep seeing that people are complaining about oil build up on the back of the phone between the case?

-What is the difference between this and the Magpul bumper case? It looks teh same

-Is the clear one actually clear, or is there a fog to it (pictures are appreciated)

thanks

From what i can tell, the Bump case is a dual-molded case with a softer inner layer, and a hard outer shell, like the Candyshell

And the clear version is more opaque judging by pictures i've seen

I have four different cases and I have never experienced any oil build up, so I don't know what that's about.

I believe you're referring to the "bump" case and its basically like a Speck Candyshell but made with Magpul styling.

The clear one has a frosted look.

When I had the Executive field case on my iPhone 4, after a few months there is some liquid between the back of the iPhone and the case. At first I thought it was just me, then I came to this forum and found that others had the same experience. Don't know if they have now changed the formula of the plastic to get rid of this.
I had seen another silicone case leak a oily residue, without even touching a phone or heat or moisture (it was sitting out in the open). So this is not limited to Magpul.
I am getting the Magpul clear case for my iPhone 5, and from the photos I've seen, It's fogged/frosted/translucent. The black iPhone's Apple logo barely shows through, which is fine by me.

-incredible fit with no movement at all or sagging of the tpu in certain areas(which is common among all tpu cases I've had)
-incredibly easy to remove despite the tight fit
-slim
-good protection considering the thinness
-texture feels great, amazing grip
-looks bad ass

Am I the only one that thinks it one of the ugliest cases out there? I don't get it at all

Same reason I dont get why some like listening to justin beiber, driving volkswagens or wearing jordans. To each his own.

I agree 100%. This case looks ugly as hell and wouldn't be in my top 100 cases to get. You take a beautifully designed iPhone and throw an ugly ass case on it? I know it's all personal preference but damn! Otterbox Defender cases are ugly as hell but I would still take that over this.

To me the TPU felt too rough. It was like holding sandpaper.

That was an early black one.

ANyone else experience this? I do like the orange and the $10 price.

Looks are subjective and not worth debate imo.

I think the allure here is that these cases are made of the same stuff as the company's gun magazines. That seems pretty hard core and manly!

Y'know, when it was time to buy a baby bag I wanted something well made that screamed manly man..
I ended up with a tactical gun bag :)

Tactical products such as these are usually very well engineered and that's out of necessity. Can you imagine being in a situation where you can't grab that last mag out of your pant pocket because the rubber is sticking to the cotton (like an Otterbox defender). Or how about the mag slipping out of your hand because the plastic is a slippery mat texture (I'm thinking SGP Tough armour).

The price is also a great feature here.

I'll weigh in on how practical the product is when I receive shipment but I'm expecting good things.

like others have said, its super thin, fits great, and feels right in the hand. The feel is not sticky like rubber, or slippery like hard plastic. Its not the nicest flashyest case, but its indestructible, will never scratch or show wear. BUT, the light colored cases will turn blueish on the edges from blue jeans.

The blue looks nice, but I think only black would go with a black iphone. I have had magpuls on my 4s's and on a 5, but for my 5s, im going with the 3x more expensive spigen tough armour first.

for the cost, the magpul is the ultimate case for protection, fit and feel.

There is one caveat, the volume buttons and sleep button can be stiff. By cutting the rubber with an exacto knife on both sides of the button solves this problem and doesn't show any modification

How has your Tough Armor fallen out of favor?
