my 2cents against wet install...

the thing I hate is as you apply it and "massage" the bubbles out, it is too easy to put the skin on stretch causing it to uneven in places...

I much more prefer the dry install. Though if anyone has suggestions for the wet install I am all ears.

Can anyone who had an SGP or PS film on a previous device comment on how well it protected their screen from scratches over time? If someone used one and took it off to find scratches, then I'd be more inclined to just skin the whole device.

Still bouncing back and forth between these options:
Zagg full-body pro-install (b/c I don't trust myself)
SGP/PS front and Zagg back pro-install
SGP/PS front and BSE back self-install

Obviously the last choice (or a BSE full body self-install) would be cheapest. But it seems like for good protection and guaranteeing that I don't do an awful job, the first option is best. Argh!

Obsessing more over this than I was over checking my order status last week...

I used a power support anti glare on my old iPhone 3G for a number of months. I always kept my iPhone in my pocket with my keys. The protector had a number of scratches on it after those months, but when I took of the protector the screen was like brand new. Worked great.

Why wreck the phone with these things? The Zagg orange peel is really awful!!
Why worry about scratches when the so-called "cure" wrecks the screen image?

Well I finally bit the bullet and made my purchases:

SGP Steinheil Ultra Oleophobic screen film
BSE Body Skin (for back)
Apple Orange Bumper (ships by July 26)
Radtech silicone 30-pin dock plug + 3.5mm headphone plug w/SIM tool
iKlear cleaning solution starter kit

The SGP film I ordered from a US seller on E-Bay because the SGP website was out of stock. The iKlear was also from E-Bay. BSE from their website and the port protectors from radtech's website.

For the next week till all this stuff arrives I'll just have to be uber careful. I have an old leather belt case from my 3GS,... hopefully that'll keep me scratch free till I can get my phone protected.

I'll post pics when I get all this in the mail.
