Better Touch Tool is great. I couldn't use my MacBook Pro without it. You can set up all sorts of custom gestures for your Magic Mouse, Trackpad. The developer is very responsive and is always improving it, sending out updates all the time.

Hey I am downloading it now.......

    What does this message mean?

"Do you want to activate Window Snapping ( => dragging windows to the left/right/top of the screen to resize them)? This message will not be shown again. (You can enable Window Snapping later in the BetterTouchTool preferences)"

    Should i activate it?

Wow the app is so confusing

how do you actually make gestures?

The feature in windows 7 is called "Aero Snap".

A quick video of how to do it (not mine) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XVV-KG3q7gM

When BetterTouchTool installed, you can do the same for maximizing, not sure it works for side by side windows (I've never used BTT).
