Does anyone know where I can download Visualhub. The website is shut down and you can't purchase it anymore. Thanks

John

OSX Handbreak > Windows Handbrake

Just a note that Handbrake fans forget:

Only the OSX version of Handbrake has DeCSS code to rip commercial DVD's.

The Windows version can only do the compression part.

But yes, Handbrake for OSX is really the best all-in-one solution. There's only about 2% of the time where I need MacTheRipper to help out with the really tricky discs... (I'm looking at you Disney!)

These days I'm using VisualHub to transcode my AVI's to iPhone... don't really need Netflix if you have *cough* BuccaneerBay.org to get *cough* legal movies.

MacTheRipper and Handbrake

where do I find handbreak? And what version is most current? I'd also like to be able to put movies on my iPhone.

I've also heard of something called Mac the Ripper, I don't know anything about that.

HandBrake

MacTheRipper (aka MTR)

Now the MTR version that's easy to get is 2.6.6. However, it's pretty out of date. You have to join the forums and donate like $10 to get the newest 3.x release that can handle the tougher movie DVD encryption that Disney often uses.

Generally you can just use Handbrake on like 95% of what Netflix or Blockbuster has. For other other 5%, you'll need to use MacTheRipper first, and then send the VOBS to Handbrake to finish compression.

I usually use Handbrake to do DVD --> MP4 conversion
I usually use VisualHub to do Any movies --> iPhone movies conversion

I use iSquint (essentially the free version of VisualHub) and it works great
I also use handbrake of course

Commercial? ehhhh I can't see paying them for what is available in Freeware and is = or better. Plus supporting 'the little guy' is more rewarding:D
Handbrake will work 99.9% of time (Disney movies give it fits)
Visual Hub is another great one.
Both are worth the effort to find and D/L.

Did Pirates fine with handbrake (Disney Movie) but had some issues with The Pink Panther

Viual hub is great but.....

I need a program for converting video files for my iphone and my brother in law sent me visual hub. I tried it and it was fantastic, easy to use and stunning results. However when I clicked on "buy" (the trial version that i was sent only allows you to convert 2 minutes - to try it out) i found that the company that makes it has ceased trading and a serial number is not available to purchase.

I emailed the link for support to ask if there was any way to get a number but I haven't heard back.
After a bit of homework I downloaded iSquint a very similar program which has no time limits for downloading but when I converted the same video as before there was a definate reduction in the quality compared to the 2 minute video converted by visual hub. Does anyone know why this may be?

Otherwise can anyone let me have a serial number for visual hub so that I can use it without the time constraints, I am happy to pay them by paypal or make a donation to charity.

Many thanks for your advice.
