Cycling uniforms FTW.

When else is it perfectly acceptable to wear spandex in public? :D :D

In my sport :D

(no that's not me, just a random pic I found online :p)

I am surprised no one has nominated diving yet…
Competitive diving, not the scuba stuff.

I would post some pictures, but I'm afraid they'd get taken down by the MacRumor Mods.
:p

Well, of course it's women's beach volleyball. Doesn't even matter which team it is :D:p How could you all forget those...:cool:

(Wow, I don't think, I ever used so many smilies in one post.)

Speedos. Duh. :) Although these guys aren't the cutest I've seen wear them. ;)

Although I have a British football jersey sent to me by a fellow MR member that I must say I feel unbelievably sexy in.

Obviously the GREATEST FOOTBALL TEAM ON THE PLANET has the best strip on the planet...
I'm not normally the type to point out mistakes others make in their posts, but I hope you don't mind me mentioning that you seem to have accidentally linked to the wrong image. I'm not sure which 'Blues' it is you're referring to (either Stockport County or Carlisle United, I would imagine), but I'm sure you're not suggesting that a bog-standard template kit is the finest football shirt of all time.
:p

Yankee pinstripes. Sharp, clean and classic.

Of course, I'm biased. ;)
They're like prison stripes, except vertical. :p

The title says BEST, not WORST.
That's a good one. :D
The Phoenix Coyotes old NHL unis were--for a time--the most popular, based on sales in the sports & memorabilia shops.

That's a pretty nifty jersey.
However, one of the most original (and often changed), even if not necessarily "best looking", is the San Diego Padres MLB Camos.

Will they ever update it to the digicamo?

Red Sox, White Sox, Reds, Blue Jays...

You make a strong argument. :p
Oh, what the heck…

I still vote for diving. :D

*Wonders how long this will stay up*

That guy should probably see a doctor.

I submit that this is best:

Although the red is good too:

Edit: There's also something to be said for the Phillies' spring training jersey. That blue is so friggin' intense!

The red Red Sox jersey is nasty. A team should only have 2 uniforms, home and away. Alternate jerseys are just a marketing gimmick. The classic white is much better looking IMO.

How about these.:p

I actually liked the old Diamond Backs uniforms.

Thought of the Astros as soon as I read the thread but you beat me to it.

I like the Nomex type auto racing gear in general, but especially Ferrari and Penske racing teams. Here's one I took of Helio Castroneves in the paddock Labor Day weekend.

One of my all-time favourite football shirts is Crystal Palace's 'sash' kit, first worn by the greenhouse-loving Londoners in the mid-1970s and recently revived as their current home kit, rather than the blue and red stripes they've generally worn since the mid-1980s. Look! Here it is now!

Crystal_Palace_1976-1977.gif

There's a bit of a backstory to this. When I was a little Jaffa I had a copy of the Subbuteo catalogue, and I used to love looking through the charts at the literally hundreds of different kits you could collect. I used to marvel at the weird and wonderful kits teams around the world would sport, and all the colourful sounding club names from lands that seemed so faraway and exotic – clubs like Juventus, Cruzeiro, Sparta Prague and Burnley.

In among them all was this Palace kit, and even as a child (I would have been about five or six at the time) this effort stood out to me as looking particularly elegant, despite (or perhaps because of) it's simplicity. It's always stuck in my mind since then.

Fast forward a quarter of a century... we played Crystal Palace in the league last season, and before the game we were chatting to some of their supporters in the pub. One of them was sporting a vintage sash shirt (it was an Adidas one, which would date it from 1980-83) and he was probably the second best dressed person in the pub – the best dressed naturally being myself, wearing my 1992 Hull City shirt as posted earlier by xUKHCx. :p.

EDIT: I'm not sure if this is the exact illustration I saw as a kid, but it's not a million miles away from what I remember – the kit in question is 194.
