I usually pay full price for the unlocked/sim free version from apple directly. Those of you paying full price, is there any way to take advantage of some discounts? I'm with a mvno tmobile provider so no contract.

I'm upgrading from the x which I paid $1250 for, my calculation is basically lost $550 value which works out to less than $2/day but I can't help but think those who can buy it outright must have some ways of saving couple bucks.

I don't believe there are any deals for those like us, who pay in full. Most of the U.S. carriers want you to get locked into their two year free carrier financing.

I've never heard of any. I usually pass my previous generation phone down to a family member and just pony up for the new one. I once got a phone though AT&T's NEXT program, and it made me mad all over again every month when I had to pay for the phone and phone service, too. I am thinking of passing on Apple Care, though. Every repair I've ever had has been a recall, which was free regardless. Even if I had to replace a screen today, I'd still never break even on all the money I've shelled out for Apple Care over the years.

Only discount I can see is paying with my Citibank 2% back card. Not much but a little something. I will also sell my 6S Plus to a family member to help a bit.
