Don't they have to charge for a certain amount of time? Like 8 hours or something to keep good battery life? Thats what I do with all my new crap...

The first thing I'll try to do is send and MMS message to the Copy Paste Gods, saying "Wish you were here".

...with you your iphone 3g (when you get it)? :D

i.e...
-call your mom
-use gps on the way to the mall
im going to fire up the App Store and hopefully load up some cool stuff. Then I'm going to find a nice quite corner of a Starbucks, fire up my MB Air and work on setting up an @me.com account.

Ditching out on work early to get away with these shenanigans too :)

First, a beam of sunlight hits the box and a choir of angels says "Hallelujah"! Second, set up my contacts
Third, message my co-workers and brag
Fourth, have multiple orgasms clean myself off and go to work.

Test the net, call one friend (i told her i would call her since shes been my first phone call on all of my phones!) until i get to my mac. Then once i get there sync my contacts, photos, podcasts ie my normal stuff. While its charging, i will browse the app store, get a few wallpapers, and text folks!

The first thing I'm going to do is check out the App store and download AOL radio and maybe get a game or two before heading over to 7-11 for a free slushie and then it's onto home where my bluetooth headphones will be waiting for me so I'll try those out then and then let it charge while I'm sleeping because it's going to be a long morning for me.

Me too, but I'm in central time zone so I guess the people in Boston and such will post pics before me as well. And of course the New Zealanders.

I live in CTZ normally but I'm in DC for the summer. I'll post a picture with you're name on it!! Haha

okay...I suppose I need to rephrase this.

What's the first thing your going to do with your iphone 3g after you've opened it, charged it, turned it on...and it's ready to rock&roll. :D

What will be the first feature that you will utilize?

I know this is not the best place to put this question, but I did not want to start a new thread for it....

When I get my iphone 3G is it best to use up whatever battery power it comes with before I charge it for the first time? OR is it better to immediately charge the phone????

I have always heard that electronics remember how long you wait between charges and will eventually hold less of a charge if not used fully before charging again. I want to do everything I can to ensure my battery holds as much of a charge as possible for as long as possible.

There are differing opinions on this...
but essentially the first few uses of the 'battery juice' are the most important...because it forms a 'memory' for what empty is. (when you normally charge it)

As to using the first little bit of juice it comes with...not sure. :(

Sooooo, how should I charge it when I first get it? What is the right way?

After leaving the AT&T store, I'll get in the car and try using the GPS. I want to see how well it works. Then I'll probably test out 3G speeds and download Apps.

I'm going to the App Store and hopefully I will find both the AIM App as well as the Movie App.

Walk outside, open Google Maps, lock on target, run around the parking lot laughing hysterically. :D
