Maggie by Collin Hay. I'm a work atm, so I don't have the playcount handy, but it's right around 50.

Good song :D I want a live version of it though, I see him a few weeks back and he sounds fantastic live.

Mine is:

Eric Johnson - Cliffs Of Dover (115)

I can't believe I'm the only one so far that posted over 300 play count. I guess you guys really spread out what you listen to. :)

there must be a relationship between library size and playcounts too. i have 30+ gigs of music. my friend has a 2GB nano and he just hits shuffle everytime on his 800 tunes ( no playlists ).

if i hit shuffle on mine it's like 8000 songs.

Great Thread!

I had 300+ play counts at one point, but I accidentally deleted the iTunes support file that tracks the play counts and star-ratings, so I had to start all over again...

Great Thread!

Wow, what a great way to find new music! As soon as I'm done writing this message I'm going to walk down to my closest RIAA -approved Friendly Music Retailer and buy all the albums from all these great artists on CD, cassette, 8-track, and vinyl so that I may legally listen to them in my home, car, RV, and workplace simultaneously without the inconvenience of having to transport the recorded music content from place to place. (Actually I have two CD players at home so I'd better buy two CD's... don't want to risk hearing the disc and reading the artwork in two separate locations at the same time, which is obviously contrary to the DMCA.) Luckily I destroyed all five of my iPod's at last week's RIAA -sponsored iPod Burning Bash in my neighborhood so I won't be tempted to back-up any digital music content that way. OH MY GOD!!! Did I just say the word "TEMPTED"??? That is part of the lyrics from a 1989 hit by the band "Squeeze", licensed for inclusion in the soundtrack for the 1994 movie "Reality Bites". It looks like I'm going to have to turn myself in and pay another fine for quoting song lyrics without approval, again. IS THERE NO POSSIBLE WAY TO ENJOY MUSIC LEGALLY ANYMORE???

My highest is around 140 or something. But it seems like my iPod doesn't affect playcount anymore. I could've sworn, when I first got it, the playcount in iTunes got updated with plays from the iPod. It doesn't seem to do that now. :(

love your post. i think the RIAA is finally starting to see the writing on the wall, they get more and more obscene with their commments. they remind me of that guy on iraqui tv...baghdad Bob they called him!

this thread did prompt me to buy the cardigan's erase/rewind from itunes

I'm well spread. almost never take it off shuffle. The only stuff that makes the top 25 are party classics (Feel Good Inc. - Gorillas, Hey Ya! - Outkast, Thank You - Sly Stone, ..) and my own stuff (not entirely narcissistic - i use it to practice to :) ) and the 6 year old's "again again" choices, like Crazy Frog  and, curiously, The Doors - Riders on the Storm

I love sigur rós, but is this a bug in iTunes, or have you really listened to the same song more than 5,000 times?

no bugs.. i'm just always listening to music. to illustrate:

1. sigur rós - viðrar vel til loftárása [5276]
2. nine inch nails - the day the world went away (live) [3014]
3. gary jules - mad world [1480]
4. the smashing pumpkins - infinite sadness (instrumental) [1316]
5. the dandy warhols - sleep [1178]
6. marcy playground - opium [934]
7. radiohead - like spinning plates [897]

...and so on.

i tend to go through phases of obsession where i'll keep the same song on constant repeat for days in a row. until i get bored and move on to something else. which isn't hard with a library of 6000+ songs.

'Without you I'm nothing', by Placebo. Girl dumped me half a hear ago. Song count still hasn't caught up.... Silly boy.:D

"Mine's Not a High Horse" by The Shins.

not on my Mac right now, so i don't know the playcount, but it's aggressive.

I live in James' old house. The Shins rock, but my song is "New Slang", cause it became my moving anthem.
