Interesting list. Here's a question--What is given up to gain the better resolution? Does a phone have to give up battery life to gain increased resolution? Does it give up some speed?

Battery life and overall performance take a hit, more so if a scaler is employed.

in real world usage i see no difference between performance between my 6s plus and nexus 6. battery life cant really be compared because battery life has never been as good on android as iphone. I fully expect my new nexus 6p to last as long or longer than my 6s plus though and be faster with a much better screen and camera. i still prefer ios over android though and if i could put ios on my nexus 6p i would

The only thing I'd put money on is the Plus variant having an unscaled 3x screen, 2272 or whatever it is, I forget.

Oh, and 2gb ram. Get used to that, won't be changed for years.

I actually don't want a higher rez than 1080 unless/until Apple comes up with a good reason for it. More pixels tax the battery and the GPU harder and require apps to be updated for the new resolution yet again.

Now if Apple decides to release a VR headset for it to drop in to, then that would be a great reason to go to 2k or 4k. But until then, I don't see why it makes sense. Apple does not make spec changes just so they can tout the spec.

This is what I think macrumors people look like when they complain about low resolution and battery life stats...
