Recently I am noticing that my Apple Pencil 2 is draining really quickly when it's not in use. I usually keep the pencil off charger until I need to charge it. Two times now I've gone to use it and it's at 0%. I checked the battery in the morning and at night on a day where I didn't need to use it, and it went from 67% to 34% battery. This seems abnormal. When I first got the pencil it would last a few days, but at this rate it barely makes it 2 days. Is there something wrong with my pencil?

It should be atleast 12 hours of battery life. Other users also tried plugging it in for about 15 seconds on their iPad Pro and it is usable for 15 minutes.

Seems excessive. I fully charged my Pencil 2 yesterday and used it for a while. Today, on first connection, it was at 93%.

I mean standby battery, when not in use.

This seems to be what I experienced when I first got the Pencil about 2 months ago.

I restarted my iPad, forgot the pencil in the bluetooth settings, and re-paired it. Charged the pencil to 100% and left it on standby for 24 hours. It has gone from 100% to 71%, Compared to the normal 10% drain, it seems like my pencil battery capacity has dropped almost 1/3 what it should be.

My Apple Pencil 2 loses about 5-10% a day sitting on my desk unused. If it's in a place where it gets moved, it loses battery a lot faster because I think motion activates it. I have tap to change tip OFF (that may also help considerably). This is standby life only (not being used).

Battery life of the Apple Pencil 2 is insane for me - I rarely see it get below 90% even with hours of usage.

Yup I think my pencil battery has gone bad. I plan to get it checked out at an Apple Store.

That’s more or less my experience as well!

I went to an Apple Store and they replaced my pencil under limited warranty so it didn't cost anything. Actively used it for a little over an hour and it dropped 7% battery, which lines up with the claimed 12 hours of battery life. After 12 hours on standby, it only dropped 5% so it should work out to roughly 10% a day drain.
