What’s the point of smart invert?

so smart invert...it’s useless. All the pictures are like negatives, in apps and also in safari....so basically what is the point of a kind of dark mode that looks like crap?!

From what I heard, Smart Invert prevents pictures from showing as negatives. Guessing the feature isn't 100% ready yet since iOS 11 is still in Beta.

It’s not even 10%, all pictures show as negatives!
And as for being an accessiblity feature...access to what? In what way does it help anyone? I’m all ears

It is for visually-impaired people. It increases the contrast systemwide without having to be implemented by developers. 'Smart invert' is simply an enhancement of this feature.

Inverting screen colors is an Accessibility feature that makes the iPhone and iPad easier on the eyes for some people with a sensitivity to brightness, easier to distinguish for some people with color blindness, and easier to make out for some people with low vision. It can even be used in combination with zoom to greatly increase legibility for anyone with a visual impairment.
