Im going to buy one soon already prepared Atv Flash Patchstick however is there any point to update the firmware the 3.0 will probley cost so will I need to if I just use boxee and couchsurfer also how do I update those?

Its not a hackintosh just a jailbroken Apple TV is there any real point unless theres something big?

It would be the latest since I havent bought it yet. I already have 3.5.2 Atv Flash it all fit on a 15.6MB stick!
I don't understand. You are talking about firmware 3 in your first post.
So your ATV would be on the latest firmware anyway, why would you try to update?
