For the last couple launches I just didn't eat too much. Usually people were cool enough to let you go to the bathroom. We even made food runs, etc so I wouldn't worry about it too much.

I think your fellow campers will allow you to take a quick restroom break and return to your spot in line. Find a 24-hour shop or something nearby.

But hey, idk, I've never done it lol.

Agreed. When I was in line for the first iPhone launch, people held other peoples place in line. I was solo and they held my place when I had to take a nature break.

Luckily the mall was open then so I don't know where I would've gone had it been closed.

I personally would say just don't eat or drink much.

I would imagine most people would be ok if you took a 3 minute break from the line to do your business. I wouldn't mind if someone in front of me did this. However there are always going to be those hardcore campers who insist if you can't hold it you don't deserve your gadget/concert tickets/whatever.

Typically people are cool if you just say you've gotta go to the bathroom. Bring a bottle or two and go around a corner.

It's not rocket science.

I was wondering this myself...I guess I'll wait til more people show up in line, and then see how others react to the leaving/coming back thing. Although I'm probably going to be first in line...hopefully the other people respect that and not give me any **** for it.

When I waited for my Xbox 360 on launch day everybody saved the spots. we were playing games in the parking lot and would go to the bathroom at the 24/7 walmart across the street.

A large, empty gatorade bottle and a blanket.

Gatorade bottles have larger openings than your standard coke bottle and the 64 ounce one should last you. And the blanket provides some privacy for your MANeuver.

Can someone give me a serious answer?
Thanks.

A serious answer for a person going by "SethRogen"? Hah!

Seriously though, I camped out for the 3G launch (which I bought at the AT&T Store in a mall, figuring the Apple Store would be busier).

I showed up with a friend around 3am and, upon seeing how dead it was there, we stayed in the car. Around 6am, we saw the "joggers"... old people who come to the mall to swift-walk around it. The mall opened around 7am, so we went inside and saw one person forming the line in front of AT&T so we took position.

At that point, I went to the bathroom (local mall bathroom) and came back, then my friend went. No biggie.

I have no idea how it works if you go alone, as the person behind you in line can always start something when you come back form the bathroom and try to get into line again.

Just make a mutual agreement with the person infront and behind you that you need to take a break, also tell them that they can do the same.

That's a good idea.

My AT&T store has a Safeway right next to it.... Lat year I made a few trips to the Safeway restroom.

This. That way if you have to get security/cops involved you can show them you were there.

yeah, but in reality if you got the "security" involved your essentially going to be S.O.L. In all actuality, if you leave your spot in line your forfeiting your position. Unless you have cool campers around you (which most are very nice) then getting security involved my hurt you even further. Do you really expect security to let you back in line, after leaving your spot? I dont think thats very likely.

Just befriend your line-mates and you won't have a problem asking them to go run to use the restroom. But don't feel a right to that spot if you leave.

Whenever I have stood in line for an iProduct, the others in line have always been cool about bathroom breaks. As long as your position in line has been established, ask the people behind you if you can go and I doubt you would get any flack.

For further goodwill, tell them you want to make a coffee run and ask them if the want you to get anything for them. Yes, I know coffee is a mild diuretic, but a man has got to have his joe. :D

Make sure give a VENTI size coffee with extra whip cream, butter, caramel to the person in front of you, so when he take the bathroom break, you take his spot. :D JK
