oh jeeez, dudes, thnks , I was so close to switch back to windows............................... NOT!
I would imagine that as he couldn't find it he isn't in the US, or we could expect similar threads including "What's the shortcut to type ! ?" and so on. 😉
I was reasoning he can't be in the USA, otherwise his keyboard would have the # symbol. However, it doesn't automatically mean he's British so I see your point 🙂

Here's a real helpful tip for finding keyboard shortcuts to type any character you want:
Go into System Preferences, then International. Enable the Input Menu, and also check the box for the virtual keyboard tool (I forget what it's called). Once this is turned on, activate it from the Input Menu (it's the one with the flag). When you press modifier keys (Shift, Option, and both Option and Shift) the character that will appear will be displayed in the virtual keyboard.
