What's this about fans?

I hear that supposedly the Air has new fans now. What's the deal? Can anyone point to or offer a more detailed technical explanation of what exactly is "asymmetric" about the new fans?

So, the people who did a teardown of an Air and found new fans were on drugs? 🙂

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but the new fans are supposed to spread it out over the machine instead of just in one area. So you won't notice as much, or if at all.

This is one of the things I think that makes it a big upgrade over the 2011 model.

From what I understand, it actually spreads the sound of the fans over multiple frequencies to reduce what you can hear.
