What's this Avast on my MacBook Pro?

Someone I must have installed this back in September and I'm not sure how or why I did this. I saw a procedure to uninstall it but I can't find those particular steps when I actually try.

Is this a good or bad antivirus to have? Thanks.

Avast is antivirus, its easy enough uninstall it.
