What's this part?

    There seems to be a bit broken off this part in the macbook I looked at this morning.

    Screws hold it in place, but not tight. There is movement possible. But it doesn't seem to be some sort of sensor.

    Help is greatly appreciated!

    I don't know what it is, but it's likely made of unobtainium:D

    Could just be an alignment slot/retainer for the lower cover, do you see a tab on the inside of the bottom cover that lines up with it and would snap into place? I know the non-Retina MPBs have these, I just don't remember if that's what the female portion looks like.

    Isn't that part of the clamp that holds the hard drive in place ?
