It was there, and it had the same icon.

It means you have your icons arranged in View Options. If you change that setting to none the icons go away. Similarly if you arrange by snapping to grid you get the grid icon there.

Edit: It is there in Leopard, I haven't received my Snow Leopard disk yet but I assume it will work the same.
