Anyone else notice the touchscreen doesn't like words that have 'th' in it? Maybe I'm too fast for the keyboard to keep up with, but whenever I type a 'th', it barely acknowledges either letter, sometimes neither of them. That really screws with the autocorrect sometimes.

I agree with everything here. Apparently Apple has something against the word "so" because it is automatically corrected to "do" every time I type it. I reset the dictionary and the issue is still there.

This. I tried and failed to emulate this as I was texting my friend, but this happens routinely throughout the day for me. Very annoying since I have to press that small "x" for the autocorrection.

There are a few other words that commonly get autocorrected too. I wish it would learn better -__- the do/so thing is very annoying.

I was considering making a thread about autocorrect over the past few weeks, but I've been too lazy.

Anywho, I wanted to express how impressed I am with autocorrect recently. Yes, occasionally it'll correct correctly-spelled words with different words. However, I find that this will help me more often than doesn't. For example, when I accidentally type "do" instead of "so" it'll automatically correct it to "so." Same thing happens the other way around and with other close words. Since iOS 5, I feel that autocorrect has gotten so much better.

Yes. This happens to me all the time. It commonly misses combinations of "you" also. I constantly get "yu" or "ou" or when trying to type "you're" I'll get "yure" or "oure". It's frustrating as heck.

Ditto with words like what and why (getting wht or wha or wy all the time).

It looks like iOS keyboard simply can't keep up.

upgraded from the original iphone recently and have been wondering the same thing; its been really frustrating.

Settings -> General -> Keyboard -> Add Shortcuts

Yes, it's a step we shouldn't have to make- especially when the software is supposed to learn our words and writing habits, but adding shortcuts is an easy enough fix to force it to say what you want it to.

Ahhh gotcha! With android there is a user dictionary an you find the error and delete or modify it. I wish there was the same process where you had to tap on the misspelled word to save it.

At least I'm not alone. I don't get it and have even gone as far as typing "so" repeatedly so it would see that I don't actually mean "do."

I'm on 5.0.1 and have noticed some weirdness since I installed it. Interestingly, one of the later versions of iOS 4 or maybe it was 5.0 the autocorrect seemed to get much better. It was then able to separate two words when you missed a space whereas before it just could not figure it out. Now it still does that but it definitely messes up more common words now.
