What's up with my screen? Picture inside

This random clear dots are on my screen and wondered what they are. Screen still works fine in those places etc.

If I rub the clear spot it smudges like normal...

Any ideas?

Are they the locations on the screen where icons are?
It may be that those are the most used areas of the screen and some of the oleophobic coating is starting to wear off in those spots.
Just a guess.

Are you putting in a case or sleeve? If you rub it would seem that that is not occurring in normal use?

Zazoh you are spot on! It's where the hard candy case of mine has been rubbing!! Stupid bloody case!
