Except that was 18 years ago and you can't blame the original developers at this point
I mean, Jeff Robbin still works at Apple and continues to be involved with iTunes. I think the Music app is so much worse than iTunes though. Absolutely no contest. Especially hate all the popups you get when queuing up songs which prevent you from quickly continuing on to the next action. Very annoying. The guys at Apple (Scott Forstall et al.) used to hate that kind of stuff as well.

Do you know of anything that can function as an iTunes replacement? At least as far as having similar music management functionality. I maintain a rather large library.
Swinsian is really nice for managing large libraries.

Discovered yet another 'joy' of the Music app...

When i browse by album, it splits up the album by artist, so you can't get an entire album's track list in one place. ugh

EDIT>> this might not be an issue with the Music app, and could be an issue with incorrect/incomplete tag information

Reminds me of a major annoyance (thankfully resolved by third party apps previously mentioned): compilations. Are you referring to multi-artist comps? Either way, what's below MAY be handy. If not, well, file it under "misery loves company."

Let's say you own all the albums by your favorite artist. You even have some obscure multi-artist compilations with them. Since iOS 7, any songs they sing in compilations don't appear under their artist listing among their albums. Used to be they would and that, in that view, the compilation would only show that artist's contribution. Elegant and intuitive.

Tying that back to your post, sometimes I have what I think is a similar issue. To resolve it I delete the files from the iDevice. In iTunes I select all that album's tracks. First verify the Artist/Album Artist and sort fields match. Also, make sure they all have the same Disc #, just because. Then, even so, I check the "compilation" option. Sync. That usually does the trick. Then I uncheck compilations and sync again. Pain on the butt and there maybe better solutions but that almost always works.

Freakin' iTunes.

Actually i'm not sure now. That might have been a pre-mature post above, cause it seems like some Albums show up with multiple artists and some don't, so it might very well be a tagging issue. Thanks for the tips tho, as i reckon they might help resolve the issues in my library!

So just to clarify, this might not be an issue with the Music App
