What's wrong with my iphone

My jailbroken iphone 3G with ios 4.0.1 is acting up. It's keeps going into safe mode each time I tap on an icon. But it works ok in safe. When not in safe mode & it doesn't respiring I can't access app store, safari & some other apps. When charging the phone, the backlight remains on. I tried resetting all setting , restarting the phone, turned off all themes in winterboard (that actually made it ok for a day). Pls help

Try uninstalling Mobile Substrate addons and then you will see which one causes the problem.

Thanks davvido, that resolved the problem. I had to turn off adblock, serial faker & ultrasn0w. But the location toggle on sb settings keeps going off even after respiring and reboot.
