I'm finding half way on my ipad 3 is pretty much perfect. The apple stores have the brightness pegged on every unit and even if you turn it down to compare after a few minutes it goes right back up. Just curious where everyone else finds comfortable?

~ 40-50% at all times. Not necessarily for my reason, but just trying to help the environment by reducing how much energy this thing needs xD.

Too bright hurts my eyes after looking at it for long periods of time anyways.

Looks like around 60%. I found turning it down decreased the heat output quite a bit. I kept my original iPad at 100% all the time. Seems like the clarity of the screen allows me to keep the brightness down.

80% with auto off on new iPad. Not sure how people keep it at 50%. I always see fools with iPhones that are pitch black.

~30%. I mostly use it at home. Any brighter is too much. I don't understand how anyone can use 100%, unless they're in bright sunlight. It feels like staring at the sun...
