Do you just jump on the latest and greatest technology when it's released? or are you looking for a specific function that your current phone is lacking?

Why are you upgrading to iPhone HD, if you are?

My 3G is almost 2 years old, battery is not very good anymore. I want multitasking, a better camera and a higher resolution screen. Those are my reasons.

I currently have a 3G and skipped on the 3GS because I didn't feel there was enough improvements for me to upgrade.

But with the new iphone (some fact, some rumor)

New form factor
960 x 640 high resolution screen
ARM Cortex-A8 CPU core w/ 512MB RAM
Improved Camera with flash
Front facing camera
Better speaker

The main factor for me is if I can jailbreak.

Nail on the head.

Ill wait until the announcement and then compare to my other options. My AT&T contract ends shortly after the iPhone will most likely launch so I have the option of carrier jumping as well. I feel like I'm in a win/win position.

Because i have my phone with me at all times and use it way to much to have outdated technology, the 200 dollars the upgrade ends up costing after i sell my 3gs is well worth it.

The ability to actually make phone calls and download stuff, and tiered plans that reflect my usage. Seems fair to me.

We'll see what's coming out. May have to do a pre-pay Droid of some sort.

This might have been a good question to ask when the 3GS was announced but come on, better screen, better processor, better camera (and a front one), new design, no brainer upgrade for me.

But for those who live hardcore lifestyles where daily battery life is a huge concern then they might think twice (that's even if it is an issue, which remains to be seen), but they are in the minority.

Two things:
Better battery
Camera 5MP or higher

Both are pretty much confirmed, so it looks like I'm upgrading.
The phone going to other carriers may make me wait, however, to see what their price plans are going to be.

I feel like I'm in a win/win position.

Actually, i TRULY am. My contract ended June of last year, but couldn't afford to get new stuff till like September. But, knowing that a better will come out, I waited. And look at all the choices I have now... Droid, Incredible, Nexus, iPhone 4, Evo.. :D

But I'm getting iPhone regardless. :apple:

yeah im in as soon as they release the new one...

im on my 3g that i won from work back in sept of 08.

this will be the first time i get to take advantage of the subsidized pricing in about 5yrs...i used to have a huge cell phone problem...changing every time something new came out...
but the iphone fixed it lol

My biggest thing is give me flash for the cam so I can at least take pics at night and in low light settings and I'm good :D

I like to have the latest and the greatest but i also feel like i have maxed my current 3Gs out. I'm looking forward to better battery life and i'm hoping that the new iPhone supports HSPA + because that would bring faster speeds and work really good with the front facing camera. :D Unless the iPhone only utilizes the front facing cam on Wi-Fi

4.3" Screen
4G Speed
Mobile Hotspot
Adobe Flash
LED Message Notification Light

Ouch. I have to say most of those are unlikely at best. Flash is just not happening.

For me, I have a 3G so its time for me to upgrade. The 3GS wasn't enough of a bump to warrant the upgrade. The new iPhone seems to be much, much better.

doesnt take much for me to upgrade. the 3gs makes the 3g look like a piece of crap. tho the ipod 3g did almost nothing different than the 2g.

any way this upgrade looks great
