If we're talking about how I felt about the phone in its time, definitely the iPhone 4. It was the last revolutionary iPhone. But today, obviously, my favorite is what I have now, the 6s Plus.

Vote and tell why it's your favorite!

If there is a topic already about this, please link it below…

For me, it has to be the iPhone 5. Specifically the black and slate one. In my eyes, this phone looked fantastic and had a great user experience. I liked it because it brought in LTE, a beautiful 4" display, and sported the gorgeous and snappy fast iOS 6, which continues with me today!

iPhone 6 Plus is my favorite. Love the huge screen. But the 2G was my favorite in terms of feel. It felt great in the hand.

I can understand iPhone SE is picked as a favorite because of this reason...

Note that it only goes back to iPhone 4s since the iPhone 4 wasn't tested for talk time and web. Only for video which got 9 hrs and 40 minutes. I suspect the iPhone 4 is only as good as the 5s. The 2G gave me about 7 hrs web. The 3G and 3Gs were worse.

I don't pay attention too much on talk time which skews the results because I want SOT (screen on time) stats.

Combined web and video scores -
1. SE = 27h 12m (13h 36m)
2. 6s Plus = 25h 48m (12h 54m)

3. 6s = 23h 13m (11h 36.5m)
4. 5s = 20h 29m (10h 14.5m)
5. 6 Plus = 20h 20m (10h 10m)
6. 5 = 20h 8m (10h 4m)
7. 6 = 19h 53m (9h 56.5m)
8. 5c = 16h 46m (8h 23m)
9. 4s = 16h 20m (8h 10m)

Surprises me that the 5s scores better with the SOT than the 6/6+.

Nexus Family
1. 6P = 18h 34m (9h 17m)
2. 6 = 17h 55m (8h 57.5m)
3. 5X = 14h 57m (7h 28.5m)
4. 5 = 9h 46m (4h 53m)
5. 4 = 9h 29m (4h 44.5m)
6. Galaxy Nexus = 9h 3m (4h 31.5m)

My Current Phones
1. Moto E2 = 25h 46m (12h 53m)
Lumia 640 = 20h 06m (10h 3m)
Mi 3 = 17h 32m (8h 46m)

Not bad. Two of my $30 phones are on par with iPhone 5 and above with the Moto E losing to 6s Plus by 2 min. My Top 2 also top every Nexus phone ever made. That's cool. My worst scorer in Xiaomi is actually almost on par with a Nexus 6! I will be happy if the iPhone 7 can be on par with the 6s Plus. Anything I put it bold is over 24h (12h) which is ones I look for. Instead of standard 20h (10h), looking for that extra 2 hr SOT improvement.

Galaxy S7 edge (Exynos) still outlasted the iPhone SE though. Fast charging too. The rumors of it having over 17h video playback were true. You will be surprised how many Samsung phones makes the Top 40. Note 4, S7 edge (both), J7 (2015 & 2016), S6 & S7 Active, A9 (2016) all over 16h for video playback. That's 8 different Samsung models. Note 4 was the last great Samsung flagship with removable battery though...

1. S7 edge Exynos = 33h 40m (16h 50m)
2. Note 4 = 28h 6m (14h 3m)
3. S7 edge SD820 = 27h 3m (13h 31.5m)

Just too bad glass rears, smudge magnets, and using cases to cover them up aren't my cup of tea. Xperia Z series all over again...

The iPhone 4, because the design of it was breathtaking, not before or since have I held an iPhone and just thought "wow". I recall unboxing it at work, everyone gathered around to look at it, and they all loved how it looked and felt in the hand.

The iPhone 4.

Such a brilliant design. Beautiful, like a Leica camera, as Steve Jobs said. It was his last iPhone. And it was satisfyingly heavy; it felt amazing in the hand.

I never owned the original iPhone, but I think it was a great design, perhaps the best.

I've gotta go with the original iPhone.

It was just a great build, as well as it came with lots of accessories by default. Apple has really gotten chinsey with the pacage accessories.

Also like that 5c isn't a poll option
DAMNIT!! I can't add anymore options anyway. Besides the iPhone 5C is nothing more than the 5 with a fancy case lol.

Umm, what's with you and batteries lol? You've said more about batteries than you have good experience with phones. I don't rate any phone by battery life at all. I rate them on performance, fluidity, and most importantly experience. Battery life is last on my list.

For me it has to be iPhone 4. My first iPhone and in my opinion the best one. It was fast, beautiful and battery life was amazing. I sold it in 2011 to buy iPhone 5 and now I feel bad about it

My post from Aug 2010...

https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/what-was-your-favorite-dumb-phone-you-ever-used.1002194/page-5

Great post Savor! I read your whole post and it was better than reading the paper this Sunday morn.

I've owned a few more phones than you. I'll try to remember them and put up a similar post.
Thanks, dude!

I made that post personally for myself as if it was like a journal. I've bookmarked this thread so if anyone ever asked me about my previous phones, I can give them an idea with this thread.

This is such a great thread. Feels like a trip down memory lane. I see many of these older phones and I would be like, "Yeah! I remember that one!" And quite a number still look very nice after all these years. Their looks really held up well. And with those brick/Zack Morris phones that can also be used as a weapon, it is like looking at an old high school yearbook pic and be like, "I used to have that?" What was I thinking?" Just sitting and smiling at the pic of that phone from many years ago. That's what makes it so cool about cell phones. We may get a new experience like every few years or less. Sometimes good, sometimes bad. Like having a fling. Constantly changing, constantly new experiences. Cell phones are like a time capsule of our lives.

This thread made me appreciate the past and present while also look forward into the future. And this is a thread where we are not bashing on Apple's competitors, but appreciating them all for laying the groundwork for us.

I currently only have my SE T616, Sanyo SCP-5500, and iPhone 4 as my other phones were either lost, stolen, sold, or given away. But to all of them, thanks for the memories...

^ Some of things I was saying back then at age 29 still holds true to me. Still a phone enthusiasts for all brands. BTW, I still have my SE T616 and Sanyo but nomore iPhone 4 since Aug 2013.

But if someone ask me this again, it might be a different answer. A #1 phone is never set in stone for me. We constantly evolve and change. I rank about anything I like. All of it is on my Notes. I realized with movies it's easier to have a #1 since it stays constant with us for years. Media or heroes is easier for me to rank.

With technology constantly improving, it is a revolving door especially when we don't keep phones for very long. And some phones that might bring nostalgia are sometimes better left in past. Like my Sega Dreamcast. If I played it again today, I probably wouldn't enjoy as much than when I played it from 2001-2002. I probably wouldn't want to be using any of those phones I listed in 2010 now.

Somethings are better left in the past...

Favorite iPhone - 4. BUT it might change to 7..Nothing is set in stone. The latest becomes the greatest it seems...

Favorite era - 2008-2009 is my favorite years with any smartphone because jailbreaking was new to me. Imagine I only had 128 MB RAM back then? Imagine now with 2 GB? It was so fresh and cool back in the day. Could I ever recapture that magic again? Probably not. Would I use an iPhone 2G again? Hell no.

Add 15 more phones in my phone history and six years, and not totally seduced by nostalgia like how I was in 2010 although it is nice sometimes to reminiscence...

I'm not going to get an iPhone, quit emailing me about it. I'm not getting one because I already have a phone that's better: it's called the Nokia E70, it's the pinnacle of human achievement, and I love it more than my family.

I loved my 4. The proportions of the screen body style (FLAT CAMERA ON THE BACK). I would lose my mind if they copied the body style and proportions of the 4 with the screen size of the 6. That would be rockin'!

Without a doubt the iPhone 4. The jump in display, camera, hardware was just unreal. I remember the first time I saw the retina display. I was blown away!!

I would say iPhone 5c just by sheer comfortability. If they upgraded the 5c like they did the SE, I'd be all over that.
