Why no 12" option ???

My favourite was the 12" G4 - now it's the 12" MacBook. I waited for years to see the G4 size come round again.

Other than that my other favourite was the 17" MacBook Pro.

Probably 13 inches at this point. Been using a 13 inch Air for years now and its really the standard for me. I've gotten away with taking notes in class lectures via an iPad Air 2 w/ keyboard, but I wasn't bouncing around a bunch of apps and stuck to just having evernote pulled up.

I've tried using a Macbook for an extended period of time and I felt just a bit cramped for some things. As a primary computer, I couldn't get away with it. I have used a Dell XPS 15 with the small bezels and found it to be not overtly large like other 15 inch laptops (including the current Macbook Pro). I'd say that about the biggest I'd be able to go for my main computer. If the next gen 15 inch pro is akin to the XPS 15 in terms of size, I'd certainly consider it.

17", I'm a member of Club 17.

That said, last week I had my hands on a 17" Dell. It felt very lumpy compared to the MacBookPro5,2.

Laptop comes in many screen sizes. Which size do you preferred?

And, no I did not include 9" and 19" because they are too "out there".

13 but I usually end up using 15 inch laptops for the power, wish apple would make a 13 inch laptop with a discrete GPU.

With how often the dGPU fails on the 15" MBP, if Apple put the dGPU on the 13" MBP, it might suffers a nuclear meltdown.

i liked 15" when I was at home more often, historically I've always liked notebooks in the 12-13" class.

Although since moving smaller i find I miss having an external monitor a bit more.

too similar to the 11" and 13"

12 can similar to both 11 and 13. In my opinion. I have only a vague recollection of hardware with 12" displays.

13" is the sweet spot between portability and usability for me. I run my 13" retina at 1650x1050 scaling and then hook it up to a 34" ultra wide on my desk at home. Works great.
