Your go to app in glances or for push alerts
The one you like on the watch

The Guardian.

BBC News
and
Guardian all send notifications of breaking news.
Glances for both of the above are a bit patchy.
BBC Glances didn't change yeaterday just an old headline and camera gif - today it's ok.

Yeah I find glances to be a bit twitchy, I use glances more as shortcuts to the app itself.

This one

CNet offers the news I would like to view on my Apple Watch.
I like the capsule format for tech news.
For other news I'd rather use my iPhone, iPad or iMac.
Then I can get more details on stories.

I loved the BBC News for the single day it worked on my watch... Now whenever I try to launch it, it immediately crashes :(

Guardian is terrible... It seems to think I'm interested in Sport which I absolutely aren't.

Any other recommendations for UK News??

So far have tried NY Times, CNN, USA Today, Yahoo Digest, Google News & Weather, AP (and a few others that were on my devices so short a period of time that I don't remember their names.
Still have NY Times - their Glance and App update properly whenever they have something new but what apparently their editors consider anything short of Washington DC being bombed not worthy of an alert.
CNN - more alerts than NYT but usually the only way to get their glance or app to update you have to force quit the app on the Watch. But their app does give a nice selection of articles over various topics whereas the NYT only gives you the most recent breaking news.
AP - removed glance and app from watch as they only showed one article but kept it on my iPhone as they give the most alerts for breaking news and their iPhone app is really nice.
Yahoo Digest is clever on the iPhone as it gives a bunch of new breaking stories in the am and pm (with the option of more articles). But their Watch version both glance and app only shows one breaking story and no option I can see of viewing others.
Gave up on Google and USA Today because either there was no option for a glance (USA Today) or their app was too limited (Google)
That's it for now. Any other thoughts?

Wow! Thanks for the in-depth review :)
Because I lacked the motivation to try all of the new readers I just installed CNet for reading news on my watch; and I've been reading the news on my other devices and Mac. I was interested in Yahoo for news but after reading that only one article was available it came off the list. So, I'll just hold out on the news readers for now.

BBC News and DW. Second I prefer in german) trying to learn the language and listening to the news is considered the best option)
