We are lucky to have easily accessible options to acquire old Mac software for free, and my personal favorite is Macintosh Garden. Super simple and works on old browsers too.

I do sometimes need Mac Repository though, as they have a lot of the bigger stuff like operating systems and office suites. They are the one and only website I've found that requires payment (donations) to download over a certain amount, but I can understand it as it's a ton of work to get all these old software discs and host them.

If you look for something really old and uncommon, perhaps KDX/Hotline still has some.

Having said that, the only software of the period I need is the OS itself and BBEdit/TextWrangler. These I take from MacintoshGarden.

Thrifting and CL & eBay are my favorite ways honestly to find retro software because I like physical media on my shelf. Now my favorite online resource is the Macintosh Garden.

Internet archive is fun too because we get to navigate the old site but time is precious and I’m usually in short supply, so TMG is where I usually go first if I’m hunting for something.
