I use www.yahoo.com as well. Doesnt look like many other do though.

Yahoo is kind of weird. Yeah, Google has pretty much blown them away in search, but as a portal, they seem to be pretty popular. One of Leo Laporte's shows was talking about this. Yahoo's entertainment page, OMG!, gets more unique hits than the TMZ page. Their sports page gets more unique hits than either ESPN or CNN/SI, I can't remember which. It's just odd that Yahoo is slumping so badly on search, yet they remain so popular in these other areas.

I cannot stand ANYTHING loading in a new window or tab unless it is a link that opens a new window. I cannot stand other people's web browsers when any webpage loads on opening of a new window.

Oddly enough, most of the time on Firefox, I have new tabs open in a blank page. Only my original page usually pops up to Google.

The default apple homepage for Safari?

I guess I just never bothered to change it. I mean, every site that I go to is in my Bookmarks toolbar, just one click away.

Plus, if I need to order anything from Apple, I just need to open Firefox.

Google

I can't believe Google wasn't an option on this poll--it's the default for Firefox, which a lot of people use. (Actually, it's a branded Firefox Google page...but it's basically Google.)

That's my homepage, because I'm a user of Gmail, Google News, and Google Voice and it makes it easy to get to all of these services--or, for that matter, start a Google search (perhaps my #1 Web activity :)), but I could obviously do that without even going to Google's website first. Also, it loads almost as fast as about:blank but gives me oh-so-much more.

And I don't use Safari, so Top Sites is out of the question, and any similar Firefox add-ons are too slow for my taste.

You can change default search engine....

Google UK, because the google search in Safari only does US...

Search for 'glims' in google search, plugin for safari. In it's settings, select the search engines section, select google.co.uk as one of the search engines, or the default.

Lots of other things in 'glims' too.

easy peezee!

I have a double homepage in Firefox

Tab 1: www.gmail.com
Tab 2: mail.yahoo.com

Then I open a new tab and go to whatever other page I need to go to, but I almost always have firefox open with gmail, yahoo mail, youtube, howardforums and MacRumors

Blank page. I can't stand home pages because 95% of new windows that I open are over the course of an internet browsing session, while I will have already looked at my favorite web page at the beginning of that session. For example: if I set my home page to newyorktimes.com it becomes redundant because I already check newyorktimes.com when I first open the browser and don't need it to come up again when I open new tabs to check email, sports, macrumors etc.

Does Safari now direct you to your homepage whenever you open a new tab?

Mine is definitely the easiest, most powerful, simplest homepage... Google.com

Blank. I don't like to wait for a page to load when I launch a browser.

Same here. Here is my bookmark bar though for a behind-the-scenes look :p

My bookmarks bar:

Most Visited (Drop down arrow), Macrumors, Apple Insider, MacGenius.TV forums, Facebook, Engadget, Slickdeals, Woot, Apple, Youtube, Wikipedia, At Sign Wikipedia, other crap.

firefoxes google homepage. it loads super fast. my parents use comcast homepage wich is obnoxious as hell. they have a slow computer and comcast homepage has all kinds of voodoo going on and it freezes while its loading.

currently it is ninemsn.com.au. However i am seriously considering changing it because of all the stupid advertising they put on it.

At home on the Macbook, "Top Sites"
At work it is either the company Intranet (on Internet Explorer), or google.com (on Firefox).
