I can't find the client data on my Linksys WRT610N AP. Oh well. It is plenty fast for my needs. 🙂

So if I may interject.....

With my ATT DSL I get a maximum of 6MB/s. A wireless N router will not help me at all with speed to my iPad and iPhone, correct? At least in regards to data I'm moving from interwebs?

I am wanting a new router but the way I see/understand it, a wireless N router would not benefit me.

What say you?

if you are indeed getting 6 MB/s and not 6Mb/s then you WILL benefit form a 802.11n router 🙂 802.11g in the real world will struggle to hit anywhere above 3MB/s, and given that the new iPhones/iPads can reach +15MB/s in good scenarios, you might benefit a fair amount 🙂

Okay........upon further review this is what I get "Up to 6.0 Mbps".

Using various speed tests apps and such, about the most I've been able to get (from the internets) is about 4+/- Mbps.

thanks for clarifying that, you will not benefit from upgrading to an 802.11n router

The higher rate is my iPad, while the lower is the iPhone4. Both connected to a Dualband TC.

The TC is connected to 200Mbps cable. Too bad there is no ethernet port with these things. 🙂

no problems at all, you would benefit from internal file transfers of course - so if you do a lot of those (wireless backups, streaming movies over the network etc) then you will benefit 🙂

Nah, right now my backups are done by USB and while I have Netflix VOD on my boy's Wii, I have zero issues in regards to streaming.

Thanks again,
David
