The title says it all. What's the longest you've ever FaceTimed for? I just moved to New York and my girlfriend and I started working things out right before I left. FaceTime makes the whole long distance thing much easier, though it still really sucks. Anyway, we make it a point to FaceTime at least once a night, even if we know we're going to fall asleep. We also have a rule that if one person fall asleep, the other isn't allowed to end the call. Tonight she was feeling really crappy and sick so I stayed up way after she fell asleep to make sure she was okay and didn't have any intentions on falling asleep myself. About two hours after she fell asleep, she woke up surprised I was still up, we talked a bit longer, then her iPod lost connection because it got the temperature warning. Prooooobably due to us FaceTiming for 2 hours and 49 minutes with her iPod plugged in to a power source. Now I think she fell back asleep while waiting for it to cool down so that's why I'm doing this thread, haha. It sucks and I wonder if it would have happened if she maybe had better hardware like an A7 or was using her iPhone 5. One of the reasons we didn't do it on her iPhone is because her house has poor wifi (her iPod touch oddly enough gets more reliable wifi) so we wanted to avoid it disconnecting unknowingly while she was asleep and eating up all her data. We would have done it on her MacBook I gave her, but for some reason FaceTime stopped working on her computer. It can start a call and once she or I answer say "connecting.." but then says it failed almost immediately. Merr. Maybe it's partially due to the dying logic board in it.

Anyway, sorry for the rant! Back to the point! What are some of your longer FaceTime moments and what was the occasion? Mine is 2 hours and 49 minutes. I think a few nights ago we might have had a longer one, but we both fell asleep and her iPod died so we have no idea.

I used it once for 5ish mins. Would probably use it/skype more if I was in a long distance relationship I suppose.

Don't use it, but would like to.

Only people I know who can are friends that I already see fairly often and don't really fancy looking at my mug and talking lol they might fight it weird as well as it's not the normal way to talk on the phone. Growing up a webcam was meant for that ...

If I were away from my wife and 19 month old son it would be a different matter. I would want to see them. I would insist I NEED the new iphone 5c or 5s so she can have my ip4 just so we can FaceTime.

me half a day during weekend, my wife and me just on it so that we can still see each other as if we are at home. Whenever I'm oversea at work.

While I was undergoing treatment for cancer I started using FaceTime to talk to my mother every day. 7 months into remission, we still talk every day, usually for at least 30 minutes. My daughter and I watch Sunday night tv together on FaceTime. She's up north, and I'm down south, so it's a nice way to hang out. We used to watch football over FaceTime, but one of us is always on a delay so it kinda gave the score away when one of us started cheering.

I love FaceTime.

The majority of my FaceTime calls are about 50 minutes. Not because we cut it off there, but it just happens that way.

I used it for almost three hours once. My iPod touch got really warm in the process, and not long afterwards I noticed a sharp drop in battery life; just playing music would cause it to drain after only an hour. Ultimately I had to get a replacement touch, since even resetting it didn't fix the problem. This may have all been a coincidence, but ever since then I have been paranoid about using FaceTime on it for any considerable length of time.

I don't use Facetime because I can never get it to connect. But I frequently use iChat's video feature and Skype in its place.

About 4 days straight. This does include sleeping (without disconnecting), working out, cooking, eating, working. I was away for 4 days and we decided we would have it connecting the whole time.

That's awesome! That's the stuff I try doing with my girlfriend, but her iPod can't handle it! Damn iPhone 4S hardware..

My longest FaceTime call was around 8 hours, I do gaming videos and I do not have a recording mic, and nither does my friend, so we use FaceTime.
