My PCH die seems to be sitting at 44°C no matter what, and it’s causing my iMac’s fan to constantly run at >2k RPM.

What configuration of iMac are you running, and what’s your Platform Controller Hub Die Temperature?

37c with the fans running at 1200 speeds - I have a 2015 5k iMac.

Are you sure its the PCH Die temps, because 44 degrees is not warm (for a computer), and there must be another reason why your fans are running over 2k.

Atm my PCH die is at 55c, fan at 1200rpm, on my iMac 27" late 2013
Do as maflynn saids, must be something else 🙂

It’s a mystery.

I might have to do an SMC reset, Macs Fan Control in Boot Camp might be causing interference with the Mac side of things.

At the top, you "active set" is set to Default, mine is on Off, could you try that? 🙂
Tried it, did an SMC reset, still running high at >2k.

It’s possibly related to the new HDD and SSD I installed, however both are reporting accurate (low) temperatures.

[edit]

Interestingly over the past 7 days the fan was at idle for one short period:

I looked across all temperatures during the period that the fan was at idle, and none of them were any higher or lower. Something weird is going on.
