Throughout the house, my girlfriend and I have just about every processor put in a Mac over the last 9 years represented....an iMac G3, PowerBook G4, Power Mac G5, iMac Core Duo, and a MacBook Core 2 Duo.

I think you should have done a seperate option for G3/G4/G5 but whatev. I have an Intel in my iMac.

I wanted a better feeling of what everybody's using because just from hanging around MR (admittedly, I wasn't on here as much last year), it seems like everyone has an Intel, and I sometimes felt out of date. But this thread reassured me.

When I read your post, I sort of wondered what kind of work a priest would be doing to need such powerful macs, so I typed in Craggy Island in google to see if you were at some place where ordained priests make films and do graphic design. I have a G3, G4, and Core Duo in the house. I only use the Core Duo, but my mom uses the G4 and I'm fixing up the G3. We also have a P4 system.

I use an Intel Core Duo here. I also have a couple power macintoshes from the early nineties, but they never get used. I would definitely like a faster processor and more ram would be great, but I can't get everything I want.

Yep, me too. Apple IIc, Macintosh Classic, iMac G3, iBook G3, and Intel Mac Mini, baby! (I have too many macs...but you havn't seen my PC collection. 🙂) Although the Classic will be finding a new home, as I'm selling it...to help pay off the iBook.😀

My dual 1.8ghz G5 still rock and will for many years to come as My main production box.

My dual 2ghz CD MBP is actually a bit slower then the G5's but use a bazillion times less power. (wont say heat though cause I don't like to lie) I use this a a dabble/test ideas on/ and as something if I nuke the drive its ok because none of it is that important.

I use the G5 for serious work and gaming, and C2D for some vid encoding, study, web surfing, iTunes, and when I'm on the go, cuz its a MacBook 😉
