I'm sober for maybe twenty minutes, give or take, (in the morning) so it has saved my life, quiet literally, but it's always terribly impaired. :(

Edit: A little more interesting than my personal life is that I recall my cop friend telling me about how dogs can "sense" how long a night stick is or weapon in general I guess, so if you need to defend yourself from aggressive dog you hold your weapon in the middle and swing, and when the dog gets close enough you hold the weapon at the end, so you can hit the dog.

Or you could do what Ralph Gracie did and choke an attacking pit bull with your bare hands.

I can sense other mutants and their powers.
Other mutants? Then you must be... No, it can't be.

* * *

If people have two extra senses, how do they know which is their 6th sense and which is their 7th sense? Does figuring that out require yet another extra sense?

for some reason able to tell if someone is pregnant even before they are aware.

2nd one : then knowing sex of the child, I am 11/11 so far this year in guessing which one it is. its gotten to the point where two of my co workers have said to me "do not tell me, i want to be surprised"
:)

I am somehow able to determine computer lag extremely accurately.

If my computer ever hangs I seem to know exactly when it will begin responding again, or whether it will even come out of being frozen.

I also know that I've received an SMS about 2 seconds before my phone begin to ring.

Somehow I can tell if a Mac is intel or powerpc without even looking at the front. The right side of a PB style MBP lets me know if it is a 32 bit intel, 64 bit intel or PPC.

I can also tell the refresh rate of a CRT or florescent light.

I can detect smells noone else can detect.

This thread reminds me that I haven't been practising my echolocation.

Mostly because I keep stepping on this little guy:

I can tell exactly when my brother does something stupid, no matter how far apart we are.
Too bad I can't tell what it is that he's done, because the suspense kills me.

I can seeming tell when my Blackberry is going to go off - I'll check to see if I've missed an SMS or email, then put it back in my pocket. Within 10 seconds, I'll get a message.
Go figure.

I can tell when FauxSnooze is about to identify a Republican as a Democrat.

I realize there are others who are onto this gig as well, but that in no way detracts from the delight I feel when I see one of these situations developing and then find out that sure enough, Fox has done it again...

For everything, there is a balance.

How much fun would the Daily Show be without FXN?

Oh come on! I don't wanna have to say this but I'm gonna.

I can see dead people.

After 2 pages, someone has to take the fall :p

Speaking of echolocation, I saw this the other day and thought it was really cool - talk about a sixth sense (actually his 5th since he is missing one).

THAT KID WAS AWESOME. He was on the news last year. I'd say 20% of his talent is guesswork though, humans aren't built to echolocate.

Dude, I really have been practising echolocation.

It's just that small, furry objects are very difficult to detect on a carpeted floor so I had to stop after the puppy started walking around on his own. That, and I kept stepping on poo.
