BitTorrent for downloading from torrent sites
Handbrake for ripping DVDs
Toast for making DVDs, CDs etc.
GetiPlayer Automator for saving programmes from BBC iPlayer etc.
BoincManager for the geek in me and contributing spare cycles
 
Vmware is a good solid program. And yes you van load your virtual images created in Windows in there. However parallels desktop's new version is much faster then vmware

And VirtualBox - which I use - is much "freer" ;-)

  6. Skype - For my IM needs

  8. Dropbox - For my iDisk needs
  9. Minecraft - Haven't played it in ages but I'll play it when I get my iMac back
  10. Trash - So I can delete crap like iLife

Flip4Mac is also very good. I rarely use it, but it's worth getting.
