That's nothing new, people have been complaining about the manufacturing process for years. Heck, I did that on my old MacBook. A lot has been written on this over the years, some people saying it matters little while others state the opposite.

I think you'll get improved temps party for applying a thin layer and making sure it doesn't ooze out but also for using high quality thermal grease like AS5
