I have an iPhone 4S and asked my carrier to unlock my phone. They agreed, saying all I had to do was connect my iPhone to iTunes, restore to factory settings, then restore my backup onto the phone. I had iOS 5.1.1, and with the restore had to update to iOS 6.0.1.

Upon doing this, I launched WhatsApp and it works fine except that my chat history is gone. Is there any way to recover it without restoring from the iOS 5 backup?

Thanks!

Since your Whats App conversation history is not stored on our servers, we cannot retrieve any deleted messages for you. Load WhatsApp>Go to Settings>Scroll to the bottom and select "Email Conversation">From the "Chat History" screen, select the conversation you would like to save. >Select if you want to "Attach Media" or email the conversation "Without Media".>Enter your email address and hit send! So you can recover lost WhatsApp chat history from smartphone.
