Whatsapp contacts missing

Hello, I have the following problem:
New iPhone (15 Pro Max, iOS 18.1), coming from Android.
Whatsapp transfer from Android to iPhone worked. Messages and Media are transferred.
Contact transfer (from the Google account) to the iPhone also worked. Contacts can be seen in the Phone/Contacts app (As iPhone contacts)

But in Whatsapp I only see some of the contacts. For about half of 160 I only see the cell phone number.

Does anyone have an idea what i am doing wrong?

Have you given WhatsApp access to all your contacts or just a selection?

go to phone app, contact tab. Pull down to refresh it then go back to whatsapp and check

It was a different thing. As i read somewhere, the people in groups appear with just their numbers for users who are new in the group until they write something. Then the new user can see their self assigned usernames.

I assume that the user appears new to this group for whatsapp because of the migration from Android to iOS
