Bought a new iPhone 6s and restored from my old iPhone 6 backup via iCloud. Whatsapp was set to backup the chat history to the cloud on a daily basis.
Now that the recovery is complete, all chats in Whatsapp have been recovered but the media is gone. It only shows blank placeholders instead of the images / videos.
What can I do to fully recover all chats including media?

So how come they don't appear on my phone? I already reinstalled the app but it still remains unchanged. Chat shows up but no media / only blank placeholders.
