Update..

I found a Solution for the Issue..
I installed Whatsapp from Safari instead of the app store, and its working flawlessly

Which talks loud on HOW BAD Apple is handling clients nowadays.

Unfortunately, if you try to make a video/audio call, it crashes.

Yes! The later versions seem to have solved the problems and work again! Even with a 5,1.

I have 25.10.72 running flawlessly with Monterey 12.7.6 and OCLP 2.3.2 on a Dual 2010.

So case closed (most likely)!

This is what i did:

Mount Efi:
sudo diskutil mount /dev/disk0s1 (could be "disk1" on your system)

Efi disk will now show on you mac, now go to
EFI/EFI/OC/Kexts/

Put OpcodeEmulator.kext inside Kext folder

Now go to: EFI/EFI/OC/

Open config.plist file (i did it with PlistEdit Pro, you can use any Plist editor)
navigate to "kernel/add" ,and duplicate fist item >0
Inside the duplicated item >1, replace item BundlePath and ExecutablePath, and delete Comment

Save and restart

On macOS Monterey 12.7.6, I've successfully reinstalled and executed WhatsApp-2.25.23.83, after removing the app and all the WhatsApp folder/files in user ~/Library.
You should search not only in ~/Library/Application Support, but also in ~/Library/Containers (net.whatsapp.*). When you enable connection of your macOS using iPhone, the app on macOS will create new ~/Library/Containers/net.whatsapp.WhatsApp/Data/* files and folders.

Claudio. thank you for posting!!! I confirm that whatsapp-desktop-25-23-83 is now working again on MacPro 5.1 under macOS Monterey 12.7.6
